This GPW T-84 transmission and T-18 Transfer Case came in for rebuild.
The Jeep was a genuine barn find and had been parked up in a Farm building for many, many years.
The gearbox and Transfercase had never been apart since its build in WW2.
The following pictures are a great source of reference for Ford script markings.
Almost every gear, shaft, casting, nut and bolt were Ford Marked.
Its not often you see such an original example.

One of the most sort after Jeep accessories, the Braden J2 Capstan winch.
We have undertaken this restoration in house, carefully checking all components, replacing gaskets and oil seals, painting and test running, then finally wrapping up in preservative material to keep all parts safe for the future.
Many parts had to be sourced and tested to make up a kit that is ready to fit.
We look forward to seeing this winch working on a Jeep in the future.

Once clean all parts were examined for damage and wear.
We replaced parts as necessary including genuine the genuine Timken bearings that we keep in stock.
New inner diff seals were installed with the correct Miller tool.
The axle was then re-assembled and set up, all with the genuine Miller tools.
Along with many other tolerance checks, we used the miller tools to set the correct pinion height, set pinion bearing preload, set diff carrier bearing preload, we also used the special Miller tool to ‘stretch’ the axle casing, to enable removal of the differential assy.
Once fully assembled, we then could check the backlash, crown wheel run out and then with marking blue check contact tooth pattern on crown wheel.
The axle was exceptionally well marked with ‘F’ Scripts, we will soon built it up completely, using a many original Ford Parts.
More Pics to follow…..
Many of the parts used are kept in stock at Dallas Autos.

My Father gave me this old 16oz Plumb USA Ball Pein Hammer, I thought that it would make a good small restoration project.
I managed to source a handle and wedge set, then set about cleaning up the head and polishing the faces.
I personally prefer older tools as they tend to be much better quality, overall I was pleased with the end result.
